2005 Grammy Nominations Announced
December 7, 2004  

The  2005 Grammy Awards finalists were just announced and Alison Krauss received two nominations in the following categories: 

 1.   Alison  Krauss was nominated for Female Country Vocal Performance for “My Ain True Love”  from the Cold Mountain soundtrack.  Others nominated in that category are Loretta Lynn, Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson and Shania Twain.

 2.   Alison Krauss & Union Station  received a nomination for Best Country Collaboration for “Coat of Many Colors” with Shania Twain (recorded for the Dolly Parton Tribute record).

In addition to her two official nominations, Alison also performed on nominations in other categories, which were:

1.   Best Traditional Folk albumSongs of Stephen Foster received  nomination  (Alison recorded  “Slumber My Darling” on that album)

 2.   Best Song in a Motion Picture or Television Show  (Alison recorded “My Ain True Love” and “The Scarlett Tide”   from the film Cold Mountainand both songs received nominations in this  category .

Brad Paisley/Alison Krauss “Whiskey Lullaby” Duet Storming The Charts  

Alison Krauss paired up with country music star Brad Paisley on his hit “Whiskey Lullaby,” which appears on Paisley’s latest CD Mud On The Tires. The CD is expected to reach platinum levels, and Krauss also appears in the “Whiskey Lullaby” video, which is selling at levels rarely attained by a country artist as well.

Alison Cooks with GAC's Lorianne Crook
On Thursday, January 8, 2004, Alison will appear on GAC's Celebrity Kitchen with Lorianne Crook.  The two prepare one of Alison's favorite dishes - broccoli casserole.  The show will air on GAC at 10:00 AM and again at 6:00 PM CST.

46th Annual GRAMMY Nominations Announced
Nominations for the 46th Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced on Thursday, December 4th by the Recording Academy. Alison Krauss + Union Station received a nomination for Best Bluegrass Album for LIVE and a nomination for Best Country Instrumental Performance for "Cluck Old Hen."

Alison Krauss and James Taylor received a Grammy nomination for their collaboration on "How's The World Treating You" from the Louvin Brothers tribute album Livin', Lovin', Losin' - Songs Of The Lovin Brothers, which also received a nomination for Best Country Album.

The 46th GRAMMY Awards will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2004 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on CBS from 8-11 PM (EST/PST).
